Provider Recognition
Cigna encourages quality through a variety of recognition programs. Recognition programs are designed to reward excellence, promote change and promote quality care, thereby improving practice patterns. In addition, recognition programs provide customers with information to make informed decisions.
Cigna's provider directory includes reference about our participating physicians who have achieved quality-related recognition from the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA)1.
NCQA Physician Recognition Programs include:
- NCQA Diabetes Recognition Program (DRP)
- NCQA Heart/Stroke Recognition Program (HSRP)
- NCQA Patient-Centered Medical Home™ Recognition (PCMH™)
- NCQA Patient Centered Specialty Practice Recognition (PCSP)
- NCQA Patient –Centered Connected Care (PCCC)
Physicians that have achieved NCQA recognition, often report that their practice patterns improve when they follow NCQA's established treatment guidelines. The guidelines ensure that care is delivered consistently and always with quality in mind.
