We implemented a Radiation Therapy Program on August 1, 2012. This program promotes quality and patient safety for individuals who require radiation therapy services, and ensures that coverage for radiation therapy services is consistent with nationally recognized clinical guidelines.

As a result of this new program, health care professionals need to get full radiation therapy treatment plans approved during the precertification process for patients whose plans require precertification. Also as part of this program, health care professionals now have to request precertification for certain radiation therapy services through our dedicated telephone number (866.668.9250). Please note that claims may deny for payment if precertification is not obtained.
