Cigna Maternity: Healthy Moms and Babies
We're Dedicated To Helping Babies And Their Mothers Be Healthy
As a health care professional, you know that good prenatal care and education can lead to fewer premature or low-birth-weight babies. The more moms know, the better they can care for themselves and their babies.
Cigna Healthy Babies® is a voluntary educational program for eligible Cigna customers. Our focus is on patient education concerning healthy behaviors during pregnancy, including materials from a recognized expert on pregnancy and babies—the March of Dimes®.
Participants in the Healthy Babies program receive free educational materials from the March of Dimes, including information about prenatal care, reducing risk factors, baby development, nutrition and smoking cessation.
As members of a Cigna medical plan, expectant mothers also receive:
- Case management coordination of care for members with nutritional needs, gestational diabetes, pregnancy-induced hypertension, or who may otherwise be at risk for complications during pregnancy
- Round-the-clock access to a valuable health information line staffed by experienced registered nurses
- Post-delivery support and services
To help make sure your patient has the opportunity to participate in the Healthy Babies program, notify us upon diagnosis of your patient's pregnancy. Members can also enroll in the Healthy Babies program by calling the toll-free number on their Cigna ID card or by calling the 24-hour health information line.
March of Dimes
Working with the March of Dimes®, we're making every effort to see that babies get a fighting chance. Every day, babies are born struggling for their lives. And every day, the March of Dimes helps them win. We're proud to be the exclusive national health care sponsor for March of Dimes March for Babies® ... the walk that saves babies.
